A&P Mechanic or IA Mechanic:

Are you passionate about general aviation maintenance? Glass Cockpit Aviation is Boise, Idaho’s fastest growing flight school, is seeking A&P or IA mechanic for our flight school operations in the Jerome, Idaho and Boise, Idaho area. The Mechanic is directly responsible for troubleshooting, repair, disassembly, and service of aircraft, components, and engine systems.

You will need to take ownership of daily tasks:

  • Maintain all aircraft, components, and systems as assigned in compliance with
    specifications and FAA regulations.
  • Identify and resolve mechanical problems based on visual inspects or reports from pilot or crew.
  • Must be knowledgeable and have the ability to inspect, service and repair airplanes.
  • Troubleshoot system and component malfunctions and perform necessary maintenance work or re-work using various tools and diagnostic devices.
  • Ability to read gauges, understand instrumentation and diagnostic tools when assessing and repairing aircraft.
  • Remove and replace defective components.
  • Inspect all documents to ensure that repairs and preventative maintenance was
    performed correctly.
  • Ensure that all inspections, services and repairs are completed and documented
    properly.
  • Must be able to work on all aspects (except instruments) of the airplane i.e. electrical systems, engine, landing gear, brakes and pumps, other internal and external parts.
  • Perform maintenance on Ground Service Equipment as needed.
  • Maintain all pertinent documentation – logbooks and historical data as required.
  • Clean and maintain exterior and interior of aircraft.
  • Ability to solve mechanical problems quickly and have the physical ability to move about when working on airplanes.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Job Requirements:

● Current FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License

Preferred Experience/Abilities:

● FAA IA certification
● Piper, Cessna and/or LSA experience
● Rotax training completed
● Private Pilot Certificate

Skills & Abilities/Desired:

● Strong attention to detail and accuracy
● Basic Math and Measurement Skills
● Strong communication, organizational and problem-solving skills
● Must be 18 years old
● Knowledge of computers and electronics
● Valid Driver’s License
● Must read, speak, write, and understand English
● Own a set of aircraft mechanic tools
● Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
● Pick up a 75-lb object from the floor, carry 100 feet, and place object back on floor
● Stand, sit, squat, kneel, lie on your stomach, lay on your back, and tolerate small, enclosed spaces for at least 10 minutes at a time.
● Available to work overtime as necessary
● Climb and descend a ladder
● Computer Skills: Computer skills using Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and Word preferred.

Salary Range: $25-$45 per hour DOE

Location: Jerome, Idaho

Travel: Willing to service aircraft in Jerome as well as Boise.

Aircraft Type Manufactures: Cessna, Piper, RV, and Sling

Models: C-172, Archer’s, RV-12, and Sling NGT

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

● 8 hour shift
● Monday to Friday
● Weekend availability
